Where ideas come alive: Inside iD8
Launched in 2019, iD8, our internal ideation platform, gives TD colleagues a clear path to identify challenges our clients and colleagues face and propose solutions that reimagine how banking can be. Our iD8 community of over 33,000 colleagues has submitted over 121,000 ideas and seen over 13,000 of their ideas come to life.

Since 2006, the TD Patent Program has been safeguarding and celebrating the ideas that drive innovation across the Bank. Today, with more than 3000 patent assets and more than 1400 inventors, we hold more patents than any other Canadian financial institution, earning us recognition as a leader in innovation at home and abroad.

Introducing the first-of-its-kind dog ATM
Don’t worry, Rover and Rex don’t need to remember to bring their debit cards to use this ATM. To show some love to the four-legged friends who often accompany customers on their banking excursions, TD is debuting a first-of-its-kind Automated Treat Machine (ATM) for dogs in Toronto—no PIN required.

An estimated 20% of the population has a disability that makes using a computer hard. Our new browser plug-in allows users to personalize their online experience. Switch to a dyslexia-friendly font, browse in dark mode or try monochromatic mode. Accessibility is for everyone.
Patents for Start-ups
The award-winning program is strongly aligned with the TD Climate Action Plan. It helps early start-ups build and protect their intellectual property. All patents belong to the start-up and are held in their name. The TD program won the Thomson Reuters "Innovatio" Dealmaker award for in-house counsel innovation.
