Where ideas come alive: Inside iD8
Launched in 2019, iD8, our internal ideation platform, gives TD colleagues a clear path to identify challenges our clients and colleagues face and propose solutions that reimagine how banking can be. Our iD8 community of over 33,000 colleagues has submitted over 121,000 ideas and seen over 13,000 of their ideas come to life.

Dino is one of our Elite inventors, contributing to at least 100 patents at TD. One of his ideas helps contact centre representatives understand the issue a client is phoning about before they even start interacting with them, making a better call centre experience for our clients.

High Net Worth Estate Specialist Manager
Teresa is our 2024 Top iD8er award winner. Her idea to consolidate two documents to waive probate and estate services reduced the process from 45 minutes to 20. It positively impacts 23,000 clients each year.

Patricia’s idea to make credit scores available to clients for free on the TD app has already given over 500,000 clients a tool that can help them make more informed financial decisions.

Jesse Cresswell
Staff Machine Learning Scientist
Jesse is our 2024 TD Inventor of the Year winner. Jesse has filed over 130 patents for Layer 6, our in-house AI research centre of excellence. Of these 130 patents, Jesse is named as an inventor on 82 of them. His work to make GenAI systems more trustworthy also won him Invention of the Year.

Patents for Start-ups
The award-winning program is strongly aligned with the TD Climate Action Plan. It helps early start-ups build and protect their intellectual property. All patents belong to the start-up and are held in their name. The TD program won the Thomson Reuters "Innovatio" Dealmaker award for in-house counsel innovation.
