Where ideas come alive: Inside iD8
Launched in 2019, iD8, our internal ideation platform, gives TD colleagues a clear path to identify challenges our clients and colleagues face and propose solutions that reimagine how banking can be. Our iD8 community of over 33,000 colleagues has submitted over 121,000 ideas and seen over 13,000 of their ideas come to life.

Teresa is our 2024 Top iD8er award winner. Her idea to consolidate two documents to waive probate and estate services reduced the process from 45 minutes to 20. It positively impacts 23,000 clients each year.

Jesse Cresswell
Staff Machine Learning Scientist
Jesse is our 2024 TD Inventor of the Year winner. Jesse has filed over 130 patents for Layer 6, our in-house AI research centre of excellence. Of these 130 patents, Jesse is named as an inventor on 82 of them. His work to make GenAI systems more trustworthy also won him Invention of the Year.

Inside the team ensuring artificial intelligence at TD is trustworthy
As a child, Jesse Cresswell thought a lot about the question "what if?" It was a core question posed by the books he devoured, from the science fiction by Isaac Asimov that posed ethical dilemmas related to technology, to the popular science books that described major breakthroughs in physics, like The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene. Two decades later, Cresswell remains excited by imagining what the future can look like. But now he does so by leading the Trustworthy AI team within Layer 6 at TD.
3 things to know about breakthrough AI model, TD AI Prism
TD has launched a predictive artificial intelligence (AI) foundation model, called TD AI Prism. When it comes to AI technology, the creation of TD AI Prism represents the next major step forward for TD as it looks to use AI to help the Bank better anticipate customer needs. Traditionally, AI technologies are designed to perform a single task, such as identifying which customers are most likely to need to open a savings account next.
2025 TD AI Insights Report – USA
To better understand evolving perceptions around AI, TD Bank partnered with Ipsos to commission a survey of 2,500 adults across the U.S. Our inaugural AI Insights Report highlights how Americans view and interact with AI today. The findings indicate that people are ready to embrace AI, but establishing trust, transparency and keeping humans in the loop creates a critical foundation.
